Tesa 4863 Fabric Tape with nubby silicone rubber coating for optimum stopping effect - Tesa Printer's Friend® 4863 PV3
Colour: grey
Width: 100mm (also available in 50mm here)
The tesaband® 4863 PV3 consists of a specially treated rayon fabric, which is napped on the back and has a silicone rubber coating. This surface increases the anti-settling effect against sticky materials. The new product design offers very high abrasion resistance, very high temperature resistance and residue-free removability.
Main application
- Wrapping of rollers and idlers to prevent deposits of e.g. coating materials.
- Masking of standing surfaces as a non-slip underlay.
- Removal of rollers during coating change partly unnecessary.
Technical properties
- Adhesive mass: natural rubber
- Surface finish: embossed
- Type of covering: PP
- Thickness: 620 µm
- Thickness of cover: 80 µm
- Backing material: Silicon coated fabric
- Adhesive strength on steel: 3 N/cm
- Attention: As the master roll has a total of 25 running metres, it may happen in exceptional cases that the product is delivered with a neutral inner core when rewinding to the other lengths!
Processing and storage instructions
Surface condition
The surfaces must be dry, free of dust, oil, oxides, separating agents and other impurities.
Surface cleaning
The following cleaning agents, for example, can be used to remove dust, oil, separating agents and other impurities:
- Isopropanol/water 50/50
- Heptane or ethanol
- Acetone or MEK
- Suitable other cleaning agents that do not leave any residues and do not attack the substrate.
Temperature
The most favourable processing temperature (object and ambient temperature) is between +15°C and +25°C.
Pressure
The strength of the bond is directly dependent on the contact that the adhesive has with the surfaces to be bonded. A short, high pressure (e.g. with a squeegee, pressure roller or pressure device, etc.) ensures good surface contact. The type and amount of pressure depends on the material (thin- or thick-walled, etc.) and the geometry of the components. Rule of thumb: approx. 20 N/cm².
Storage
The rolls should be stored in their packaging protected from light at a temperature between +15°C and +25°C and a relative humidity of 50%.
