The 3M 8591 high performance protective film has been specially developed for the protection of painted surfaces and is used in many interior and exterior applications where additional protection against mechanical or chemical impact is required. The paint protection film protects against scratches, stone chips and UV light.

IMPORTANT CHANGE IN THE BACKING PAPER: With immediate effect, 3M as the manufacturer will only supply the PU8591 E protective film in all material widths with neutral i.e. white liner. The previously used backing paper with the small 3M logo will no longer be used. (As of September 2008) This can be confirmed in a letter from 3M, which we can send to you on request.
Processing and storage instructions
Surface condition:
Surfaces must be dry, free from dust, oil, oxides, release agents and other contaminants.
Surface cleaning:
The following cleaning agents, for example, can be used to remove dust, oil, separating agents and other impurities:
- Isopropanol/water 50/50
- Heptane or ethanol
- Acetone or MEK
- Suitable other cleaning agents that do not leave any residues and do not attack the substrate.
