The 3M 4411N and 4412N high-performance sealing tapes are single-sided adhesive tapes that have been specially developed for demanding sealing applications. The backing consists of a robust, abrasion-resistant yet flexible ionomer film. The very soft and thick acrylic adhesive has excellent sealing properties and very good durability for outdoor applications. The single-sided adhesive tapes are used to seal existing joints and seams. They can be used on materials such as metal, painted surfaces, glass, ceramics and high-energy plastics. The adhesive adheres well to the ionomer backing so that the tapes can also be used overlapping.

Processing instructions:
Depending on the surface to be sealed, one of the following three surface preparations must be carried out:
1. cleaning with S-151 (70 % isopropyl alcohol / 30 % distilled water), rub dry with 3M paper towels 34567.
2. sanding with an abrasive with a grain size of 180 or finer, then cleaning with S-151 (70 % isopropyl alcohol / 30 % distilled water), rub dry with 3M paper towels 34567.
3. clean with S-151 (70 % isopropyl alcohol / 30 % distilled water), then apply a primer.
The ideal processing temperature is between 21°C and 38°C with a subsequent dwell time of 24 hours. Processing the adhesive tapes at temperatures below 10°C is not recommended. Once properly applied, lower temperatures have no effect on the bond. Apply the tape with the protective cover by hand using light pressure. Press lightly over rivets, screw heads, etc. with the Z-751 hand pressure roller so that it moulds better to the edges and contours. Remove the protective cover. Smooth the tape again with the hand pressure roller so that it adapts well to any unevenness.
Storage and shelf life:
Store in original carton at a temperature between 4°C and 38°C and a relative humidity of 0 % to 90 %. The optimum storage conditions are 21°C and 50 % relative humidity. If stored correctly, the shelf life of the high-performance sealing tapes 4411N and 4412N is 24 months.
