The 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 includes a set of high-quality coloured films in 90 μm thickness for vehicle wrapping. Our films are manufactured with two layers of colour for greater dimensional stability and durability. The series is available in different colours With the 3M™ Wrap Film Series 2080 you can create a distinctive look and a sleek appearance for vehicles. Our 90 μm thick coloured films offer an improved work result and are easy to apply. They are more conformable than 3M™ Wrap Film Series 1080, even on curved surfaces and in beads. They are manufactured with two layers of colour for greater dimensional stability and durability and can be used straight from the pack without the need for a protective laminate. They are available in 1.524 metre wide rolls, so you can cover entire vehicle parts, and in a wide range of gloss, matt, metallic, satin, pearlescent and steel colours.
The gloss films are provided with a highly adaptable, thin protective film. This helps you to avoid scratches during application, even on the most complex projects and curved body parts. After bonding, the protective film can be removed quickly, easily and cleanly. Pressure marks on the surface of glossy films are significantly reduced and the substrate is protected from scratches during application for a beautiful finish. All films are equipped with our Comply™ and Controltac™ adhesive technology. Comply™ ensures bubble-free application with the help of invisible air channels. The pressure-activated Controltac™ adhesive makes it easy to move, position and reposition the film. The 2080 Series is backed by 3M technical support, training and certification programmes to help you and your staff keep up with the latest application techniques.
Product description
3M™ Wrap Film 2080 is a cast, multi-layered, fully pigmented film that has been specially developed for vehicle wrapping.
Equipped with 3M™ Controltac™ technology, the film can be applied in a particularly precise position. The adhesive system acts as a mechanical spacer to the substrate. 3M™ Comply™ is an adhesive technology that enables quick, easy and bubble-free application of graphics thanks to air channels in the adhesive.
The films can be sold in a maximum width of 1.52 metres and enable seamless application to almost all vehicle parts.

All glossy 2080 Wrap films have a transparent protective film on the film surface. This must be removed from the film surface after application

Processing and storage information
Surface condition
The surfaces must be dry, free of dust, oil, oxides, release agents and other contaminants.
Surface cleaning
The following cleaning agents, for example, can be used to remove dust, oil, release agents and other impurities:
- Isopropanol/water 50/50
- Heptane or ethanol
- Acetone or MEK
- Suitable other cleaning agents that do not leave any residues and do not attack the substrate.
Temperature
The most favourable processing temperature (object and ambient temperature) is between +15°C and +25°C.
Pressure
The strength of the bond is directly dependent on the contact that the adhesive has with the surfaces to be bonded. A short, high pressure (e.g. with a squeegee, pressure roller or pressure device, etc.) ensures good surface contact. The type and amount of pressure depends on the material (thin- or thick-walled, etc.) and the geometry of the components. Rule of thumb: approx. 20 N/cm².
Storage
The rolls should be stored in their packaging protected from light at a temperature between +15°C and +25°C and a relative humidity of 50%.
